Texas Women's Healthcare CoalitionMay 9, 2017Articles

The next Women’s Health Advisory Committee (WHAC) meeting will be held on Monday, May 15th at 1:00 pm. This meeting is open to the public, and no reservations are required for attendance. The agenda for the WHAC meeting can be found here. The agenda will include updates on the progress of Healthy Texas Women (HTW) and the Family Planning Program (FPP), and the state’s efforts on Zika prevention.

The agenda will also include a discussion of the state’s draft Healthy Texas Women Section 1115 Demonstration Waiver application, which will be released on May 12th. If approved, the 1115 Waiver would allow Texas to receive federal matching funds to support the Healthy Texas Women program. An 1115 Waiver could have a significant impact on the funding, services, and structure of the state’s women’s health programs.

HHSC will be taking public comments on the draft application from May 12, 2017 through June 12, 2017. Public comments will also be taken during the May 15th WHAC meeting. To obtain copies of the waiver application, submit comments, or receive other information about the application, contact Sallie Allen at 512-424-6969 or by email at TX_Medicaid_Waivers@hhsc.state.tx.us.
