The Texas Health and Human Services Commission has issued a notice of reinstatement of the Texas Medicaid mosquito repellent benefit for certain populations. The benefit covers pregnant women of any age, women and girls age 10-55, and males 14 and older, as applicable, in the following programs:
- CHIP Perinatal
- Healthy Texas Women
- Family Planning Program
- Children with Special Health Care Needs
This benefit covers up to 2 cans of mosquito repellent per month for those eligible. Additionally, supplies that may be purchased with these funds for distribution to HTW and FPP clients include insect repellant, condoms, and insect netting.
